EGF Senior High boys

Coach: Jay Frydenlund.

2017: Third at North Subsection 8AA meet, fourth at Section 8AA meet.

Key graduation loss: Bauer Brown.

Returning regulars: Sr. Nate Deziel (75.6 avg., North subsection 8AA medalist, tied fourth at Section 8AA meet), sr. Trevor Strandell (87.9), jr. Tucker Brown (91.3), soph. Nathaniel Emery (93.0), 8th-grader Adam Vatnsdal.

Potential new impact players: Sr. Matt Rusk, sr. Tyson Mason, fr. Zack Frost, fr. Easton Brown.

Green Wave coach Frydenlund says: "We have a solid person to build around in Nate, who's participated in the state tournament the last three seasons. Trevor, Tucker and Nathaniel have looked good at times. The big thing is for them to be more consistent. We'll be playing without a lot of practice the first few weeks. We'll have to be mentally tough.''

EGF Senior High girls

Coach: Paula Devine.

2017: Fifth at North Subsection 8AA meet.

Key graduation losses: None.

Returning regulars: Sr. Brooke Filipi (93.3 avg., tied for sixth at North subsection 8AA, 20th at Section 8AA meet), soph. Kylie Stauss (109.8), sr. Maddie Frost (122), sr. Alexa Kovar (129), fr. Bryce Burris (117), soph. Madison Delisle.

Potential new impact players: Soph. Ava Swehla, fr. Cassidy Wise, 8th-grader Aleah Hangsleben, 8th-grader Kenady Burris.

Green Wave coach Devine says: "It's nice having several returners. Our goal is to advance our team to the section tournament. Brooke is very solid. She has a natural swing, knows the game and works on it. She's one of the top returners in the section. Our other girls need to be more consistent, to cut down their strokes.''

GF Central boys

Coach: Josh Cichy.

2017: East Region tournament champion, fourth at state tournament.

Key graduation loss: Ethan Knudson.

Returning regulars: Jr. Cole Hanson (76.88 avg., tied for seventh at East Region), fr. Carson Seng (81.67, tied for 12th at state), fr. Joey Kennelly (83.71), soph. Brandon McGarry (84.13), 8th-grader Brady McGarry (86.13).

Potential new impact players: Fr. Jack Bryan, fr. Braden Panzer.

Knights coach Cichy says: "This is my fifth year (as Central's coach) and I have the most confidence in this team as far as what we're capable of doing. We're young, but we have a lot of experience. We have talent. We just have to bring our A game to meets. We expect to contend in every meet.''

GF Red River boys

Coach: Merle Mikkelsen.

2017: Second at East Region meet, Class A state tournament champion.

Key graduation loss: Keaton Wolf.

Returning regulars: Sr. Adam Van Raden (76.29 avg., third at East Region, tied for third at state), sr. Mat Halvorson (tied for third at state, 79.75), sr. Gavin Loscheider (80.75), jr. Seth Badolato (82.88), fr. Zach Hinchberger (83.00), sr. Keaton Gilbertson.

Potential new impact players: Jr. Jack Lindgren, soph. Koby Kuenzel.

Roughriders coach Mikkelsen says: "I'm pretty hopeful about our season. I think we'll have a good year. Except for Keaton, we have the same group back that won state last year. Van Raden and Halvorson are the leaders.''
